The 287th MP Co. was activated in 1953 when the 759th MP BN was deactivated.
A small detachment is set up in Steinstücken in 1961 after the enclave is separated from West Berlin after the construction of the wall.
From October through December 1992 one Platoon is deployed to Mombasa, Kenya. It is part of "Operation Provide Relief" to provide humanitarian assistance.
In 1993 Squads from the 287th MP Company rotate to Macedonia as part of "Operation Able Sentry".
